“DRAFTSMEN’S CONGRESS” INITIATED BY PAWEŁ ALTHAMER

The Draftsmen’s Congress – initiated by Polish artist Paweł Althamer – takes place in St. Elisabeth-Kirche in Berlin-Mitte. The audience is invited to join a non-verbal discussion by using color, charcoal, collage or other traditional techniques and to react with the drawing as means of communication to current politics, symbols of power, religion, economical disasters and so on.A series of workshops furthermore brings together different social groups with clashing interests, beliefs, or opposing views who will be encouraged to communicate in a non-verbal way, with images instead of words.
