Sayoko Nakahara (Born in Japan, Lives and works in London) was selected by Han Nefkens (H+F Collection) and Hilde Teerlinck (Director of the FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais) as the new candidate. She will become part of the FRAC's team as an assistant curator, coordinating local, national and international exhibition-projects and bringing a fresh view on the collection as well as on the development project of the future FRAC plus her own curatorial project.

Nakahara obtained her B.A. in Philosophy of Science from ICU, Tokyo in 2000, and worked as an art writer/editor for cultural publications. Moving to London to pursue her Masters in Critical Writing and Curatorial Practice at Chelsea College of Art in 2008, she worked on multiple curatorial projects at Tate Modern, Whitechapel Gallery, Arnolfini (Bristol) and Ikon (Birmingham). Independent exhibition-projects include Sunset in the Morning (Master Piper, London, 2010) and Katsumi Omori: Everything happens for the first time (198 Contemporary Arts, London, 2011).
