This year, the German artist, Wolfgang Tillmans, and his long time gallerist, Daniel Buchholz, inaugurate the Conversations series with a discussion about Tillmans' career, work and most recent projects and exhibitions, including those at the 8th Berlin Biennale (2014), the 14th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice (2014) and ‘Neue Welt' at Kunsthalle Zurich (2012).

Recent years have seen an explosion of interest in performance practice, receiving wide international exposure at museums, festivals, biennales, and increasingly, in the commercial sphere. This panel of leading voices in the field will assess the evolution of performance and debate the way forward. Despite the growing recognition for performance, questions loom: How can performance connect more deeply to other forms of artistic practice? What are the commercial underpinnings of the art form? What obstacles are faced when presenting and promoting performative work?

Conceived by Hans Ulrich Obrist, this is the eighth installment in the series entitled ‘Artistic Practice’, following ‘The Artist as School Maker’, ‘The Artist as Urbanist’, ‘The Artist as Poet’, ‘The Artist as Activist’, ‘The Artist as Musician’, 'The Artist as Farmer' and 'The Artist as Technologist'.

Tayou's most recent exhibitions include ‘I love you!' at Kunsthaus Bregenz and ‘Update!' at Galleria Continua in San Gimignano, Italy.

Sturtevant, who passed away in May in Paris, where she had lived and worked for the past 40 years, was best known for her remakes of masterworks by artists such as Jasper Johns, Frank Stella and Andy Warhol. She was awarded the Golden Lion Award for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Biennale in 2011.
