Some of the material presented here was compiled in the context of courses about algorithmic art and its art-historical and conceptual context, developed by Remko Scha for the Frank Mohr Institute, Groningen (2001-2003) and the MA New Media of the University of Amsterdam (2001-2005). Jos de Bruin and Jochem van der Spek made substantial contributions to these courses.
