She is a curator and editor of contemporary photography, based in Graz (Austria); in 1980 she co-founded the specialized magazine “Camera Austria” of which she has been editor in chief until 2010, publishing 112 issues. She supervises the photographic archive of Pierre Bourdieu that is hosted by Camera Austria; from 1995 to 1999 she was the artistic director of “steirischer herbst”, a contemporary arts festival held in Graz. Frisinghelli has been involved in teaching activities in Vienna, Graz and Zurich.

Camera Austria is a private association, based in Graz (Austria), founded by artist Manferd Willmann and Christine Frisinghelli. Through exhibition projects since 1975, symposium on photography since 1979 and the publication of the quarterly magazine “Camera Austria” (created in 1980), this institution supports the promotion of the debate around the role of photography as a contemporary artistic practice.
